James Robinson
Managing Director
In a career spanning over 20 Years, Jamie has been intimately involved in virtually every aspect of the broadly defined Sports Marketing World. Launching his career as a certified NFL agent, Jamie has negotiated sports merchandising, licensing, and sponsorship agreements totaling in excess of $150,000,000. Jamie has worked on behalf of a number of the nation’s leading marketers and brands including; Hallmark Cards, McDonalds, Coca Cola, Dunkin Donuts, Burger King, Wawa, Pepsi and many others.
As the co-founder of AMP, Jamie created the term Entrepreneurial Marketing™, which is defined as thinking like an entrepreneur and spending like an accountant in achieving a client’s marketing goals. Entrepreneurial Marketing employs a broad range of tactics including; marketing partnerships, licensing, merchandising, sponsorships, events, new media, and more in delivering a quantifiable ROI on every program.
In his spare time, Robinson enjoys collecting outsider folk art. Jamie is a board member of the Police Athletic League and Ashley’s Angels and sits on the steering committee of the National Sports Marketing Network .
Michael Balser
Managing Director
Before co-founding AMP, Michael Balser was a founding partner at Alliance Consulting Corporation. Prior, to Alliance Consulting Corporation, he was Vice President of Marketing and Licensing, heading new product development, marketing and mass production for one of the countrys leading sports collectible companies. In these various roles, Mr. Balser supervised all licensing acquisition efforts for a publicly traded company and personally negotiated over 1,000 sports and entertainment licensing endorsement contracts including deals with Cal Ripken, Jr., Shaquille ONeal, Emmitt Smith, Brett Favre, Troy Aikman, Dale Earnhardt, Viacom Consumer Products, Adidas, Inc., the National Football League, Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League and the National Basketball Association. Mr. Balser, an honors graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, lives in Atlanta with his wife, Lara, and two children.
Charles Henderson
VP of Marketing
Charles Henderson brings over 30 years of retail marketing, promotion, and advertising experience to AMP. His strategic planning skills helped turn around a major restaurant business unit of the Pillsbury Company, as well as a number of regions for Burger King Corp., where he spent 14 years in a variety of marketing positions. Mr. Henderson has directed the creation of award-winning broadcast, print, point-of-purchase, and direct response advertising for many clients and was the founder of a retail marketing and promotion consulting firm in Columbus, Ohio. In addition, he worked as a newspaper reporter and columnist for several of the daily papers in the Philadelphia area. Mr. Henderson is a graduate of Temple University and lives with his wife and three sons in Washington Crossing, PA.
Pete Hanley
VP of Strategy
Pete has 42 years experience in advertising and marketing on both the agency and client side.
He began his career at Dancer-Fitzgerald-Sample (now Saatchi & Saatchi) in 1964 in New York, where he directed advertising activities for many of the agency’s leading clients, including General Mills, Procter & Gamble, 3M, Borden Foods and Wendy’s.
In 1981, Pete joined J. Walter Thompson and spent the next 10 years managing key accounts in both their Washington and New York offices. From 1991
to 1993 Pete served as the Executive Vice President at Young & Rubicam, New York.
In 1993 Pete was appointed President of Arnold Communications in McLean Virginia. Pete led the Agency’s growth from $15 million to $156 million lifting the agency from 13th in the market to number one in only three years attracting blue chip accounts like Lockheed Martin, Black & Decker, Sterling Software, Platinum Technologies, Mobil Oil, SAP-AG, Cable & Wireless, Disney, McDonald’s, CSX Railroad, the American Red Cross, Global One, USF&G Insurance, Hyatt Hotels, and others.
In the spring of 1999 founded Solven.com. For the next year he provided strategic planning for a number of companies who were committed to an e-Business Internet solution. These include LCC Wireless, Saga Software, OfficialStuff.com, WQuinn Software, Groove.net, Patton Boggs, Colorado Prime Foods, Netplex, ePlus and others. Solven.com was merged into Immedient Corp. in May, 2000. Pete remained with the merged company through its consolidation and then left in February, 2001 to join Alliance marketing Partners as Vice President of Strategic Planning. In this capacity he has developed business building plans for ORCO Construction Supply (Livermore, CA,) Content Scan (La Jolla, CA), Sunset Aviation (Petaluma, CA), The University of Florida (Gainesville, FL), Orcon Corp. (Union City, CA) and EnviroDynamics (McLean, VA).
Pete and his wife Rosemary have been married for 43 years and have three children. Pete served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York for eighteen years before retiring in November, 2004.
Kristina Kopach
Senior Account Executive
Kristina Kopach joined Alliance Marketing Partners in May 2007. Kristina attended Villanova University where she earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing and a minor in Communications. Upon graduation in May 2000, Kristina began working with POC Media, Inc., a marketing firm that specializes in non-traditional sports promotions for major record labels and their artists. After serving as Vice President of Sport & Entertainment, Kristina left to pursue her Masters in Sport Administration from Temple University. While pursuing her Masters degree, Kristina worked as an academic advisor for student-athletes in the Office of Academic Support for Villanova Athletics. Most recently, Kristina served as Assistant Director of Student Development for Programming, planning special events and campus programs for Villanova students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, after ten years of involvement, Kristina continues to work with Books N’ Hoops, an inner-city basketball camp and mentoring program that teaches valuable life lessons through the sport of basketball.
In addition to serving as Senior Account Executive for Alliance Marketing Partners, Kristina continues her role as a professor of Sports Marketing at Villanova University in the School of Business.
Scott Bolger
Creative Director
Before becoming the AMP Creative Director in 1999, Scott worked for 15 years with Philadelphia's top advertising and promotional agencies. Along the way he's been the creative backbone of many large scale promotions and advertising for such products as Mountain Dew, Pepsi, Mohawk Carpet, Mannington floors and Tylenol. Scott is experienced in all phases of advertising and design from concept thru production in both print and television. (His claim to fame is scripting and art directing print advertising and a TV spot for Invisible fencing starring the Smother's Brothers.) At AMP Scott's biggest asset is his ability to create visuals that excite the eye while communicating our targeted marketing strategy. Scott is a graduate of Tyler School of Art and lives in Center City Philadelphia.
Al Cassidy
Art Director
Al comes to AMP with over 10 years of ad agency experience in designing and leading print, web and multimedia campaigns. His expertise lies in creatively pulling together the elements of a conceptual project and making it a tangible reality. He has worked with such clients as Anthony & Sylvan Pools, Bradford White Corporation, LUX Products and more. Aside from design, Al has been called upon for original music score, animation, video production, voice over and scripting. He is also a serious dabbler of illustration. Al graduated with honors from the Art Institute of Philadelphia.
Ed Donovan
Director of Public Relations
Ed Donovan is a communications professional with senior level experience in public relations, media relations, special event management, corporate sponsorships, public affairs, corporate philanthropy and nonprofit management.
Prior to AMP, Ed worked for Comcast Corporation where he managed national and local public affairs and community relations initiatives for the corporate headquarters of an industry-leading Fortune 100 company. In this role, Ed created communications strategies and tactics for national community initiatives, managed corporate community sponsorships, and directed national community relations events such as press conferences, VIP receptions and company-wide volunteer initiatives for both Comcast and The Comcast Foundation. In addition to his corporate background, Ed worked in nonprofit management as Director of Development and Communications for one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the city of Philadelphia -- the Police Athletic League. In this role, Ed created high-profile promotional events including amateur sports, publicity events with professional sports teams, golf outings and award dinners. Ed collaborated with public relations/marketing agencies for product promotions and created innovative sponsorship packages.
Ed is a graduate of La Salle University with a Bachelor’s degree in English/Professional Writing and minor in Communications/Public Relations.
Jackie Roberts
Assistant Account Executive
Jackie Roberts is a 2005 Graduate of University of West Georgia and has been a member of the AMP team since February 2006. While at West Georgia, Ms. Roberts received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. As an Assistant Account Executive, Ms. Roberts offers support to AMP’s key accounts.
